I have a JL 450/4 that blew one of the front circuits. Both fronts are wired into the one port cutting the power they’re getting in half, only 75w each into Hertz components rated at 125RMS, not satisfactory. I’ve been looking on and off for a replacement but not finding anything that splits the power the way the 450/4 does which is idea for my setup. Lightbulb went on in my head tonight, what about getting the JL I have repaired? Probably would be a heck of a lot cheaper then a new high end 4 channel, it’s a very good amp, power distribution is perfect for my speakers and it’s already paid for.
Question is, does anyone know who repairs car amps, is reputable and fair priced? I don’t mind shipping it for quality work. Thanks for any leads.
wow, didn’t even think of going straight to the source. I did just open up the link and they have a list of equipment they repair and costs. The 450/4v2 isn’t listed and they if not not listed they don’t repair it. Doesn’t make sense as all the other Slash series are listed, I’ll call them tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks.
In case they dont repair anyone anyone else with leads feel free to post em up for me please.
Any electronic repair shop should be able to do it. But I also agree about sending it back to JL for the fix. FWIW, they don't list several amps still floating around. 500/5 slash for instance.
