I admit, Not likely the correct place to ask but maybe you have a kid that is a tuner! LOL!
I am looking for good quality OBD2 Dongle with WIFI and current software to run on an iPad.
I have an older set up but it is slow and the software I am using is slow to react. Maybe the dongle I use is just outdated.
I can google just like anyone but I'd like some first hand experience and impressions. Not looking to "TUNE" my setup but to use it for real time gauges.
Lastly the dongle must be smart enough to turn off when not in use. You see, I am not smart enough to always turn it off! LOL
Any input is appreciated!
. . . . and to satisfy the normal questions, 1969 Corvette Convertible with LS7 is the intended use.
Thanks in advance!

i like torque. and it works with most of the 10 to 20 buck obd adapters. lots of ability to add gauges. i have all my oxy sensors on 1 screen cuz one side isn't reading right. i don't think i even get into closed loop. 01 vortec in a gmc box van. gonna be dragging my stuff, boats, vette down I95 with it maybe starting this week. truck runs well and gets good mileage, but it sez one side richer than the other. and i switched sensors. this adapter is longer than some. if your port is down low you may want a shorter one.
this guy is supposed to be good, but i had 2 that both died. it may be that i left them in the port so they were broadcasting all the time and burned out the transmitter.
I have a hardwired (to eliminate potential communication issues) code reader & cleaner, but a friend of mine has this thing below and I was quite impressed.
He did pay for the extra software though (cheap anyway but it was quite amazing).
I really appreciate the input!
The OBDLink brand keeps popping up for me on searches and I have watched a few videos on it. the MX+ version of OBDLink Also is compatible with IOS which I have a device I can mostly dedicate to my vette to play with. I too have the Chinese ELM devices and they seem to be hit or miss. The one I currently have mostly works well when I play with it then when I really want to use it, it decides not to play nice. It is WiFi based vs Blue Tooth and was required for older IOS. I see the MX+ says it works on IOS with BlueTooth so I am leaning towards that one!
We have a test and tune night at our local track in a week and I want to collect info. Then in August My bride and I are going to take the 69 to Idaho for a few days. Its a 5 + hour drive each way and I want to keep an eye on things then too and I just don't trust my current dongle to be there when I want it. It's likely going to be very hot and I want to be sure my temps stay in range.
That is good info and I am very interested in what app works best. I do not have a problem paying a fair price for a good app. I just hate getting stuff that just does not deliver what it promises! LOL!
Thus my questions!
Again, I do appreciate the input and experiences!
