Hi all. Have a set of 6.5 speakers I want to install in the rear panel. My installer says it’s possible but just want to see if someone here has done it and how they went about it.
I never did it, but did think about it once.. Lots of trimming of fiberglass. Possible modification to the plastic trim also.. Not worth it, not recommended. Just get a nice set of 5.25"
You won't get any more performance in going to a 6.5 over a 5.25. Keep the hole man, just fill it with better gear.
yeah. Thing is I have a nice set of focals itching to go in there. I’ve seen a post or two online about it but haven’t talked to anyone specific about it yet. Maybe I’ll have to just get my installer to do it for me lol

I don't remember how much space there is between the speaker and the trim, but perhaps something like this may work.
