Novel Amp and sub install, C6 coupe...
I came up with a plan to install an 8" square woofer and mono-block amp in the back out of sight.
I settled on using the battery compartments molded into the rear tub.
Made some brackets for the sub and a sheet metal mount for the amp. I made some good use of aluminum Rivnuts for the mounting of structure to the tub.
The sub puts out 385amps at 4 ohms, and does a fair job of driving the 8" sq. driver from Kicker.
The low frequencies radiate through the tub and amplify the lowest frequencies without the need for more cone area, so the 8" did the job.
Not getto loud, just enough to get the greater fidelity at the lower end of the frequency band. I've got it set for 200Mhz pass and does just fine.
Here's some pics for you viewing pleasure...Bill
