Two years ago I installed a Kenwood DNX 995S ( with the help of forum members) and everything has been great until last week when I found no volume working. The volume bar works visibly showing I am trying to raise or lower volume but not a peep from radio. My son said I should try and see if my factory Bose amp is being powered up. Anyone know of an easy way to do this? I'm not sure where the amp is even located?
Also there is no volume when I use android carplay or when a call comes in through the cell phone. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for the info. I will check around in that fuse panel now that I know where the amp is. I think my problem might be the amp or maybe the RP3-GM11 interface.

Could be the interface, others have had issues with PAC interfaces, the problem is that there's no way to test them I'm aware of, I think you'd have to send it into PAC to have it tested. Hopefully it's the PAC and not the amp. Another thing to check is to make sure the Blue/White amp turn on input wire on the PAC/Radio is still connected.
Since you are still using the factory amp, are you able to hear the warning chimes for door open, no seatbelt, parking brake on, etc. through the speakers? This should be a quick way to tell you if the amp is working.
Also, could it be a fuse for the factory amp has blown?

Thats a good call.....chimes are working. The amp fuse is good....checked continuity with VOM. I will have to pull radio to look for the interface and check wire connections and stuff but this afternoon I can't. Probably tomorrow. Again, thanks for all the help.

Did you check all your settings to make sure something didn't get changed on them ?

Yes and I looked for a factory reset but that is nowhere in the settings. But what I did find is a " initalize " setting ....tried that but didn't help.
Have you disconnected your car battery for about 20-30 minutes, then reconnect and try the volume?
The reasoning behind this suggestion is that many head units (and other electronics) do not completely power down when you tell them to power off so this would act like a hard reboot of the units in case there is something "stuck" off.
[QUOTE=NBVette_Canada;1604186690]OK, next way out test.

Good idea, I will try that today. Also, since it's a plug and play move, I ordered a new interface to test the old one...due in today.

NBVette, you nailed it!! I tried the new interface with no good results. So then I disconnected the battery as you suggested and its working.....thanks for your help and all the members who posted ideas. Its great to have such a helpful forum.
Myself and I've read a few others have had the stupid Bose amp blow. All the fuses good, everything--it just stopped working. Instead of replacing it with another one (I think they're garbage anyway) I upgraded the system and haven't looked back. Good luck and keep us posted.
