"pre wired" for factory CD changer????

"pre wired" for factory CD changer????
I've seen many comments made thet the newer C5's already are pre-wired (or partially so) for the factory CD changer... even on the C5's that never had the changer.
What exactly does this (pre-wired) represent?

Prewired means that there are connectors in the passenger side footwell. You stil have to buy a $90 cable from GM, which then goes to the back of the car. "Prewired" my azzz!!

Is the connecter that you mention in the footwell area a C-net type connecter?
and were is it exactly if you could zoom me in closer, i have a Clarion 6 disc, w/ that connecter thanks :chevy

thanks for the info. BTW, you can get the factory CD changer harness (that goes to the back of the coupe) from Fichtner for $47.
There are two CD changer related connectors in the passenger footwell area (near the fusebox). One is a 4 pin (I think that is the line level audio inputs to the head unit). The other connector is 3 pin and contains ground, 12v, and the serial data line.
