I’m installing an Alpine ILX-W650 with a backup camera in my 2004 vette. Would someone please check my wiring before I start soldering? Most is very straightforward (yellow to yellow, red to red, blue to blue/white and black to black), but I want to make sure I’m getting the power source correct. I the loose wire from the PAC harness (next to the pencil) will tap into the yellow wire under the steering wheel. From what I understand, the 04 doesn’t have the option to tap on the passenger footwell.
The PAC is a "T-harness" correct? So it just installs in between your HU and OE harness? So you'd be soldering the HU pigtail to the OEM harness. Those are the wires you got to get right...
Also, are you ONLY installing a HU? Or are you doing amps too?

It's a "t-harness". I was sent the wrong wires for the right side of the PAC unit, which is why there is nothing plugged into that side.
There's a red wire that doesn't run into the harness that hooks into the factory harness. I wanted to double check to make sure this is the wire that connects to the yellow wire under the steering wheel.
I'm just replacing the HU and adding a backup camera. Not touching amps, speakers or a sub right now.

Reason: add info
That red wire is undoubtedly a power wire. I believe they leave it out so you can run it directly to where you need it. Just don't solder anything until you get the correct harness for the right side.
you're always way off, but let's not get into that right now.
The red wire is for Acc power in. It can go to any circuit that provides Acc power and has enough capacity to handle the extra current. The wiring under the steering wheel is a common source. Also you could tap into a circuit on the fuse box with an adapter like this... make sure its the right type... TAP
Thanks to @VinceC5 I was able to get everything wired up and running yesterday. I grabbed power from the harness under the right side of the drivers knee panel. The PAC unit I was sent had the wrong harness for the subwoofer side, so I won’t be able to put everything back until the correct harness arrives.
