Funny sheat, I never noticed and I was typing my last response while you posted yours do did not see it until now.
Anyway, I still love my old Eclipse HU's though I should sell some, best bang for the buck HU ever and I have owned several $2,500 units, best processors, etc ever built, etc.... and these are not the best ever but dang fine when new and now dirt cheap
It depends. Eclipse Double Din's are the best you can get.
They have 5v Pre-outs, compared to the 1.5 or 2V pre-outs that ALL the other brands have.
The new AVN726E is a nasty HU! I have a DD that is 5 years old and it still works great. Before this I bought a Kenwood back in 08 and the pre-outs went bad. Eclipse has great customer service. I have called them a few times about various issues. Also, they have a 3 year warranty IF you buy from an authorized dealer. On top of that, if it is stolen within the first year, Eclipse will replace it for free. Fujitsu Ten (Eclipse) makes all the NAV units in Lexus and Toyota.
Yeah i agree as well. They are expensive but there is not much flexibility with tuning and such. I like the Eclipse but the Pioneer is easier to use and has more options. TVs to me are too expensive for too little benefit, and usually don't sound as good as a nice single din unit.
I agree with you when it comes to Pioneer but only with their Single Din units. Their Avic series Double Din's are complete garbage.
i wouldnt say they are complete garbage. it depends on what you want. the avics are more geared toward GUI and NAV than audio quality. if you are building a great "system",then yes the avic would be a poor choice. which is why i really wish they would build a Premier(or now "Stage 4") Avic unit.
