I’m stuck. I’ve got my interior torn apart looking for the radio control module. Not under pass side carpet. Not under the drivers side and not in the back. Anyone know where that sucker is?

C7 Corvette
The radio module is located in the floor of the
passenger footwell (Fig. 1). Pull back the carpet
in passenger footwell to access the BCM shroud
(Fig. 2). Remove the bracket to access the BCM
(Fig. 3). The radio module is located underneath
the bracket that the BCM is attached to.

I’ve looked at 3 boxes in the footwell and it doesn’t look like the connectors fit anything. I really wish I had a picture. Thanks for any clarification you may have.

I’m still confused. I’ve read everything I can find about which unit is the Factory Control Module. None of them looks like the pic on the instructions. I wish I could call PAC, but I can’t find a number for them. In the three pics attached, do you see the unit? Need more pictures?

thanks Vince,
Dave

Thanks Vince. I did find it and like you said, it’s behind the BCM behind plastic. I did cheat. The plastic it’s mounted on is soft. I bent it and pulled the box out. What a pain, but I got it. Thanks again for your help brother……

Well, I still have nothing on my project working. I get hiss out of the front speakers. That’s the only sound in 5 days. I have signal coming out of the blue box. All channels. More than 1 wire has the the same name as in the other harnesses. Like RR three times. I’ve pulled everything apart and run one wire and one connector to the amp at a time. Nothing. I’m to the point that I’ll go back to stock to see if anything still works. Do I have a blown fuse somewhere. Nightmare. I’m so damn stuck.

Are you also using the

PAC APH-GM02 AmpPro Speaker Connection Harness

if so, then most of the labels are not right. You are going to have to send a test tone through each pair to get the location. You may also need to verify you have the right voltage coming out of the gm61. And the last thing, you may also need a relay on the remote output of the gm61.

MB Quart 5 channel 900 watt amp.
AP4-GM61
APH-GM02

I’ve spent another 4 hours or more on this. Plug and play my ***! 1) the black connector with the mostly brown wires. There’s nothing on this in the instructions. One wire say’s RF speaker 2. I’m GUESSING it’s the microphone turn off assembly. Harness V1 16pb.

Harness V1 8P. It has sub, LF, and RF. 2 black connectors. Do I use just this one for the two fronts and the sub only? I don’t need rear speakers.

Harness V1 16PA. This is the big green harness. I’ve been trying to make this work. It says to leave the green connector out if you don’t want the factory amp power anything.

I’ve got the amp kit in and working. I still need to turn the car off and let the box set-up? Speakers are my problem. I’ve no checked them to see if their labeled correctly. I’ve no clue how to do that. YouTube.

Any insight on my problems?

This helps a lot. I have a tone generator coming today. Your labels are crazy. I’ve got sound. The center speaker is 98% of the sound. I don’t have the center speaker hooked up. The RCA isn’t plugged in at the blue box. I’m still looking for whatever I need to do make this work. Just the center speaker alone sounds better than the stock system. Lol.

Are you planning to run a separate amplifier to the center channel? If not, you'll have to disconnect it as you'll get a lot of feedback/ echo throughout your system.

I think I’m going to go with front speakers and a sub. Maybe rears down the road but I doubt it. No center.

I made no forward movement in the last three days. Screw it. I took it to an audio shop, where as it turns out I know the owner. I helped launch a new audio line and he was part of it a few years ago. He showed me where I was off. NO WAY would I have done what he said I needed to do. Doing these add on’s is a large part of his business. I took the car to him disassembled. For $150 I pick up the car rocking and rolling. Oh, the son is going to do ceramic coating for $800. Lol. This plug and play is my last attempt to upgrade the C7 where electrical parts are included. It’s just not the same thing as the last 10 systems I’ve built. I’ve no control over the OEM wiring.

Off into the sunset I go. Thank you Vince and everyone else who advised me and let me whin about it….

Hey Vince. Final post. The audio shop owner where I took the 19 called me today. It turns out that the blue box is defective. I guess one or a couple of the RCA connections are grounded out. He ordered a new kit or just the box. Not sure. If it’s a kit, $900 is a bit much for plug and play! Again, thanks for the help. I really appreciate it.

****. This is great info! Reading this truly makes me feel better! Good advice about disconnecting the box. I’ll keep it on the first plastic cover you remove above your feet. Easy to unplug from there. Outstanding response. Thank you. Maybe my audio guy knows all this and called PAC directly for a replacement box? It’s supposed to be there on Wednesday.
