Default C6 New Headunit HUD interface question

Hey Friends, I’m planning to install a Kenwood DMX1037S head unit in my 2007 LT3 corvette. It currently has the entire stock single CD NAV bose system. I want to maintain the stock features like steering wheel controls. I’m curious if there is any special harness I need to purchase that will maintain the function of the HUD radio station change notification feature? I believe the HUD basic functions (mpg, rpm, turn signals) receive their signals from another source.

Im planning to buy everything from Crutchfield. Including harnesses and cameras. However, I’m okay going elsewhere for harness if there’s a better option. I really want to install the best equipment available.

thanks for reading my question and any help you can provide.

Lance

You can't integrate the HUD with an aftermarket system. You only loose the radio and nav info on the HUD when going with and aftermarket system, all the other displays on the HUD work fine. You'll need an interface when installing an aftermarket system to interface between the new system and the cars canbus system, the most commonly used interface on this forum is the PAC RP5-GM11 which'll also allow you to retain the steering wheel controls. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541RP5...Interface.html Also, if you want XM radio, you'll need to get an additional tuner, as the stock tuner can't be reused with an aftermarket system, this is the tuner you'll need to get. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_220SXV...0V1-Tuner.html You can however reuse the stock XM and GPS antennas, let me know if you want more info on how to accomplish this. Crutchfeild is a good company to buy from and has good customer service, the problem right now is availability, many head units have been out of stock for quite some time now, so finding one will be difficult.

For some reason the links I posted are taking you to someplace else, if you copy the link and paste it to your browser, it should take you to the right place.

Thank you for the info. I was hoping there was something new out that would enable all the HUD features, but that’s okay. I just didn’t want to find out later I could have done it. Appreciate the information and the fast reply. Happy new year! Lance
