Sounds good to me, but then I'm a novice to this audiophile stuff...
I also have waiting for intstallation the same HU and CD changer.
Amps are going to be Kickers (I'm sure I'll get some negative opinions on that). Sub is a JL 10W7. Fronts are gonna be Focals.
Would be interested in your opinion of 7998, just read the manual, that's about it.
I just bought a a 7998.... it goes in SOON... I was hoping to do it this weekend... then I caught a stomach bug... dammit... :mad
as for your system... It sounds like a GREAT install.
I have found though, that the MB Quarts are tuner monsters... you need to get the competion crossovers before they sound right.... but that is an older observation. I have not listened to them lately.
The amp is a great selection. Xtant makes a neat looking, and GREAT sounding piece.
I would look at a JL, BA or Image Dymamics for a sub before I went Kicker.
Same goes with Kicker amps. They are ok... powerful, yes, but they have a tendency to be noisy and not very musical.
All top notch stuff! But when laying out big bucks, dont forget to check out all the other speakers in the similar price range. Something you've never heard of before might knock your socks off.
I'm with bogus on the sub though.. I really like the Image dynamics subs, JL are great, and I hear Edesign are top notch, too.
Thanks for your suggestions. About the JL subs, which do you recommend? W7 series? I listen to all kinds of music exept rap so I don't need anything to extreme - just looking for the full audio spectrum.
My recommendation would be to scrap the rear channel and put the extra money towards a better sub such as the IDMAX or a JL W7. But this would also require you to rethink your amp as well. If you went with a bigger sub such as the MAX or W7 you will most likely have to run two amps in your system.
Another observation that I made is that with that amp, you may be underpowering both your components up front and the sub in the rear. It is alway better to overpower a speaker than to push an amp to start clipping. And I would definately want to give an L7 more than 300 watts. :yesnod:
