2013 bose - questions
Appears the prevailing wisdom says new head unit, upgrade doors, add sub. Ignore/remove all 3 dash speakers, along with the rear speakers.
Thinking this is probably the way I'll go, but have seen that there are some adapters required to replace the bose woofer in the door. Is something similar necessary to install the tweeter in the door, as well? Or would they fit in with the factory arrangement?
I'm not looking for anything mind blowing, but I also want clarity and quality when I have the top off doing 80 down the highway. Figured a good head unit, 4ch amp - L/R front, bridge the rear for the sub, call it good?
Also - center speaker and dash tweeters - disconnect/remove/leave in place? Assuming not necessary to touch them if I'm just yanking the bose amp and bypassing that.
Assuming I'll need to run new wiring for the replacement door speakers as well?
I'm not totally ignorant to replacing a system, it's just been probably 10-15 years since I've done anything like this so trying to dust off my "audio guy" hat and get ready to do this
Appreciate any thoughts! If anyone has good suggestions for quality stuff, I'm all ears. Not looking to spend a fortune, but I'm also well aware that sometimes price DOES relate to quality, and am not afraid to pony up if it's warranted. Buy once, cry once is a whole lot easier than trial/error and spending twice the money to get where I want to be.
Personally, I got the new Kenwood DMX908S HU and love it!
