Hello installed a Kenwood DNR476s it has android auto and apple play. I removed my front lower cig lighter and was going to install a adaptor in its location. I purchased this.
This keeps dropping the connection then never reconnect. I know it is it since if I plug into the USB right from radio no drops and works great. Did anyone purchase one that works?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Did you check where it connects on the back of your Kenwood to make sure it didn't come loose when you reinstalled your deck ? Either that, or you just got a bad cable. I bought one similar off eBay that replaced the power point in my center console, and it works fine.
Again no issues from back of radio. No issue's from supplied extension cable. Only the cig adapter has the issue. I found this an so far great reviews pac usb dma. Should be here today. Will post up after a week
So tried the new PAC cable and it did not even make 2 minutes before it disconnected. So tried the extension cable that came with radio and it work almost until i got to work (30 minutes) then it disconnected.
Again setup radio with built in cable 6" long(this can't be change as it is mounted in radio). Extension cable 3 foot long. PAC 9 " long.
Then phone usb c to usb 3ft
First set up radio with extension and phone type c cable.
Then tried PAC added in between. it only work for 2 minutes.

Three suggestions:
Reboot your phone. I know you shouldn't need to but in so many cases I have seen this cure the issue it is worth a try.
Make sure all your cable connections are tight. With aftermarket cables especially, I have seen situations that the connector casing is slightly out of spec which causes it to not fully enter the connection plug. This could result in no connection immediately or a poor connection after a while from slight bumps causing it to move.
Make sure there is no lint or other debris in your phone connector. I've seen lint inside a phone connector keep a cable from being fully connected and cause power issues. Gently blow in the power connector and you can also, VERY GENTLY, use a toothpick to scrape any lint out of this connector.
The HU has a USB 2.0 interface with a max current draw of 1.5A. Using a USB 3.0 cable could be causing the port to shutdown when you plug in your phone. Switch to a USB 2.0 cable. If maybe the cable you have is just poor quality. What do you have to do to get the port to connect again?
So tried today going to work and got a disconnect. I think the issue is too much data passthought. I had maps on and spotify then went i got a call it kicked me out of android auto. The differance yesterday was ju8st maps and spotify..
Okay after trying out PAC USB which connects right to the part that come out of the radio and a 9' extension cable 480 certified I have not had one drop out. Still need to test with everything running and phone call.
