Default Backup camera splice

Currently have an iLX 650 Alpine.
It came with the car I just purchased.
Whomever owned the car did not opt for either camera input.
I am going to open the dash because I want to move the mic
from the bottom of the console to the A pillar.
I would like to add short video cables to the unit so I can hook up
one or two cameras in the near future.
Is there any issue with short video and power(trigger)) cables?

Shouldn't be, but I suggest you just wait till you get the cameras, and just do everything at once to minimize the number of connections.

Yes, you are probably right.
Just dumped a ton of money on an original set of GM Spyder wheels.
Need to get them on my car first.

[QUOTE=dmyers;1606681434]What color wire is the one for the backup lights back where the come through in the back of the car? I’ve seen it and thought I had it documented but don’t. This thread reminded me - especially since I have the same head unit and just finished with some upgrades this evening.

OP - here’s what I did for a sub:

It’s an 8” x50w Bazooka (https://www.crutchfield.com/p_204BTA...-BTA850FH.html) and for what I listen to - primarily blues, rock and jazz) it’s perfect. It brings just the right amount of boom to the room and can be completely removed by unplugging one plug and loosening a strap.amp-app-banner/QUOTE]

Man you need to clean up your post. So do the Bazooka subs sound as good as they did years ago ?

I was trying to clean that damn thing up and it did it again! I don’t know WTF all that code was coming from but I’m using a different browser now.

I remember they were the thing to have back in the day - especially if you had a truck or a jeep. I think it sounds really good. Smooth, tight bass and the ability to tune the crossover as much as you can with the head unit is awesome. Easy to install - comes with some easy instructions to add onto a factory system or you can use RCA jacks and then run a fused link to the positive and a good solid ground and you’re done (which is what I did). I found the ILX 650 to be lacking in bass even after adding the 4x50w backpack amplifier it was for my tastes lacking in bottom end. This brought exactly what I wanted.

Yeah I remember years ago they were pretty impressive and the thing to have, but I haven't heard much about them lately. Are you running it in a coupe or vert ?

It's in a coupe. Behind the passenger seat pointed towards the back of the car (per Bazooka's recommendation).

I originally considered getting one for my vert, but I was concerned the sound from it would get blocked when the top was down, so I went another route.
