I just installed a new DD head unit in my '03 coupe and forgot to eject the CD from the original HU. After viewing a few older CFOR posts I was able to determine the pinouts for the HU power and ejected the CD.
All I needed was a 12v power supply that I had (or could use a charged battery), and some small alligator-clip wired leads. Found the plug wiring diagram here on CFOR and ID'd the + & – pins, but used the chassis for my ground contact...
Here you can see the + pin I clipped to (based on the diagram), and the chassis tab clipped to for ground:
Next I connected the clips:
Then powered on the 12v power supply, heard a whirring but the display did not light up (likely due to the TheftLock?), then pressed the eject button and VIOLA! I saved my Foreigner's Complete Greatest Hits CD:
Before chasing this down I had tried the old "Double-sided tape on a putty knife trick" from YouTube, but it would not come out (maybe locked on the spindle?). Hope this helps someone out.
