Either bad input/power supply. or the output section has been shorted/overloaded. :banghead: Have you taken it apart and assesed the visual damage? What model?

Take a dremel tool and turn them into flathead screws.

The pi**er about Soundstreams is that the company called Soundstream now isn't the same one that existed up until around 15 months ago. The new Soundstream (they bought the assets of the old company but not the actual corporation & installed new management) won't honor the warranties on the equipment produced by the old company. I think the technical term for those of us who might have warranty claims is SOL. :mad
That said, I've had great luck with my Soundstreams (I've got three).

It's just a Torx head. A lot of electronic equipment uses them. You can get a whole set of Torx drivers at Sears, Wal Mart, or any auto parts store.

I know how to crack it open, i just dont have the tools.
i dont think the box was the death of it. When it "stopped" it was cooler to the touch than normal. Usually out in open air, or even when I had it fan cooled, it would get so hot you wouldnt want to handle it.

I'm using a 2040 (50x2) arc on it right now, I need a 2100 for those subs, but that's another $400 :cry
I'll just get a Clarion.
