I just came back from the shop, and they suggested the following: Pioneer 8400MP deck, 12" Memphis Studio sub, 4 Memphis 15 MS6.75 speakers, and the Memphis Bell amp, 5 channel, 75x4 600x1, I think. I've never heard of Memphis before, but they sounded alright to me. I listen to mostly metal, and some hip hop. Any suggestions?? Whole system goes in for $2500 installed. Thanks in advance
CDT, Focal, Image Dynamics, Adire, Elemental Designs, maybe even Dynaudio...
Buy online, get it cheaper... then self install. You can have a MUCH nicer system for half that price mho. But wait until someone more familiar with MEMPHIS replies.
Yes, MP3's get used. I figured I'd be able to get it cheaper, just wasn't sure where.
If you plan on having that shop installing the equipment, I suggest that you should buy stuffs directly them. It will definitely save you lot of hassles when you run into a problem. Trust me on this one. :) But you also need to make sure that they won't rape you on prices for the parts. But if you plan on doing the install yourself, I can help you put together a package at an awesome price.
Have you thought of the Alpine CDA-7897 headunit instead of Pioneer? I have a couple in stock right now ($479 shipped), in addition to Kicker subwoofers, and MB Quart speakers.
Memphis is ok but there is better for the money. If you want to have it installed, definitely get the stuff from a shop. I'd comparison shop around. Make sure you get good installers as well as equipment.
