Default C5 Double Din with Single Din Mount

I recall seeing someone install a double din, but it was installed with a mount that had the radio externally mounted and partially covered the AC. Anyone know what to call that or have a link?

To make this a little more complicated, my current head unit is a pretty old aftermarket one. Currently, the speakers are really quiet at normal volume, but when you turn it up a bit the speakers (all of them) start to break up. It sounds terrible overall. What could be causing that?

I woukld suggest going with something like this, and install a quality brand name Double DIN system (i.e. Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine etc.) instead of the cheap Boss system, you’ll be better off in the long run, and I think it’ll look better. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120DP3...k.html?tp=3121
