There has been discussions about dash cams in the past but technology changes very fast these days. I’m looking to purchase set ups for several cars, even those that can record what happens from rear. I’m most interested in the most bang for the buck - easy to install and easy to see. Any ideas?
I would look at a few youtube videos. You can spend a lot or a little. Many of them have the same sensor and the videos will be similar. I got a basic one from Amazon. It did not last with a battery and heat. It had front and rear cameras. The dual cameras use up the memory card faster. The rear video is less quality than the front. Most problems will happen on the front. Here are two videos.
I tried researching dash cams a couple times. Still haven't gotten one. I'm not sure why this is so difficult, but researching these sends me into a tailspin every time.

Thanks for this. I will take a look at Vantrue. Just want something like you mentioned, set it and forget it. Doesn’t have to be the cheapest, just reliable and easy to use.

Vantrue is that..for me. But seriously..i am a total gear geek and i found researching them very painful. Just put in the max sd card they handle. Records in couple minute chunks...if aomething happens ya push a button and it wont overwrite that file. Ya end up seeing a lotta weird chit on the road today..
