i am tryin to wire up my alpine 7998 in my c5 vert. which color wires on the factory harness do i tap into. i have the adaptor so i dont have to cut the factroy harness. i have a yellow 12v power,blue power antenna, black ground, red for the ignition on the alpine harness. which colors on the factory harness do these wires go to. itried a few different ways and nothin worked. i dont wanna hack anymore wires till i know which ones to connect too :confused: :confused: :confused:

If you have an adapter, you don't have to worry about it. Just match the adapter colors to the HU's colors.

The harness should have come with a little list of what wire goes to what. All you really need is +12V, ignition, power antenna, and ground, since you won't be powering th speakers from that head unit.

I had the same problem.

The adapter worked for me except the switched wire. Apparently the Bose system is turned on by the computer and not a switched power wire. It's just a blank spot in the stock system.

It sounds like you only have the adaptor that came with your alpine deck.
You also should have had to buy a seperate ($15) adaptor for a GM (1997-2002) vehicle (corvette). If you only have the one that came with your deck and the stock harness from your stock deck you are missing another adaptor the ($15) one for GM.

You will still have to tap into the auxilary wires because the stock system has no switched ignition wire. By all means though get the adapter.
