Default Amp mounting question

I have a c5 convertible and I'm mounting my amp directly behind the seats where the top folds. What's the best way to mount anything there. I wasn't sure if I could screw the amp down in that location. I thought of gluing a board under the carpet and screwing to that but I'm not sure how well it will hold.

Thoughts?

You don't really need to glue the board down. Sandwiching the carpet between the amp and the board should be just fine.

Thanks. Can I screw into that panel? Do I need to be concerned about the screws going through the metal?

Absolutely you should be concerned. Use short screws that will not go past the board.

Yep, without a board, or to long of screws you could screw into the gas tank which would be bad. Which amp are you wanting to mount?

Oh ok, the reason I asked is that on my C6 I mounted an amp for my subwoofer under the water fall, but I’m sure it’s a smaller amp dimension wise than yours. Another idea would be to get some threaded wood inserts to screw into a piece of plywood that you could put under the carpet, them screw the amp into that, this way the plywood wouldn’t be visible, and you could use a thiner piece of wood, say 1/2”, these inserts look like these which I would think would hold it more securely that just using wood screws. The only downfall I could see if that you’d have to poke some holes in your carpet.
