Default Back up lights

I'm going to install a backup camera on my 2006 C6. The instructions for my kit says to connect the camera trigger wire to the positive pole of the backup light.

OK. Got it. According to my shop manual this is the light green wire coming out of the BCM to the backup light bulbs.

Easy peasy. How/where can I get access to this wire to splice in my camera trigger wire?

Sorta. It's a portable unit that plugs into the cig lighter.

Well in that case, wiring the camera at the back is your best option. You can access it by pulling your outer tail light.

Thanks! Removing the taillight gave me easy access to the wires going down to the backup lights. A splice onto the light green wire was all I needed to do.
