Default 2006 Vert Nav Bose - channel intermittent

I am the original owner of a 2006 convertible with factory nav Bose system. Only mod to the stereo is the GM PAL (I think that is what is called) that allowed me to connect an old iPod nano that I put in quite a while ago, and I changed the rear speakers that are right behind the drivers headrests, under the waterfall. A couple of years ago the left (drivers) channel started going dropping out from time to time. The car is usually summer driven with the top down, so not that noticeable since I'm mostly listening to the B&B exhaust when driving . But this past fall I realized that the left channel was more out than working. Sometimes I would hit a bump and it would work for a bit, but then drop out again.

Does anyone have a good thread to point me to on the layout of the factory Bose nav system in a convertible? I've done some searching here and on google with no good luck. Found some videos that focus on changing out the head unit, that's it. I don't know if I have a loose connection that I can access and tighten, or if there is a cracked solder joint in the head unit or an amp (I think these have external amps, not sure). It is the entire left side that goes out, not just one or two speakers.

I'd be okay if this was just a loose connection that I can find and return to order. But if this is a failed component, I'd also be okay with going with a full overhaul. If these don't have external amps, and the speakers are directly wired to the head unit, then that is likely at fault and I can just replace it with a modern carplay equipped unit. But if there are external amps and that is the problem, then replacing the head unit alone won't solve my problem.

Thanks for the help!

Using google AI search I found some pages here with some good intel. The Bose system does have an external amp, it is located in the passengers footwell. The carpet folds back and there it is to the left of the fuse box. It is held in with four 7 mm screws. The bottom two are easy to get to. The top right I needed to buy a 1/4" universal. The top left is damn near impossible. I can feel it, I can't see it. I was able to loosen the unit, the top left screw still in, just a little loose. I turned on the stereo, moved the balance completely to the left and it was working. I banged on the amp, shook it best I could, and even fondled the two connectors and the left channel stayed working the entire time. The problem is intermittent, the channel going in and out while I'm driving. But I think I beat on the amp pretty good and it stayed working, so I'm thinking the problem then is in the head unit. So now I'll be researching head units that are compatible with the Bose amp and the rest of the Corvette electronics. I've seen some videos already, other adapters are required. Some videos were pretty old so I hope I can still find these parts for a near 20 year old car.

PS. The car is up on ramps front and rear right now since I have a number of projects to do on the car over the winter, so taking it for a quick spin to help troubleshoot the stereo issue is not an option.
