Default Kicker Compact Sub

Today I installed a HS-10 Powered Sub, Mounted on Board under Rug behind passenger seat in my 2012 GS Vert.
The instructions say run Hot to Battery but getting there is tough for me so I Fuse Tapped to Reverse Lamp Fuse keeping the 10amp on bottom (rev Light) and 15amp top for Sub.

Think I'm good to go???

So let me get this straight, the original circuit is 10 amp, and you tapped the fuse keeping the 10 amp and adding a 15 amp draw so you're potentially pulling 25 amps on a circuit made for 10 amps is that correct? If so I suggest you disconnect the sub and run it to the battery like the instructions say. On mine I ran the + wire by drilling a hole through an area behind the battery and feeding the wire in the fire wall and its came in above the passenger side under carpet fuse panel, then ran it under the carpet back to the amp. I thought I had a picture of where I drilled the hole, if I can find it I'll post it later

I used one of the dual fuse taps original fuse goes in bottom and the extra Hotwire run has protection on top with fuse, like this

Yeah, that's better than using the fuse taps in my opinion, do you have a fuse on the +wire for the sub coming off the battery connection, close to the battery per the instructions ?

It's not like a real bass setup, but definitely adds base, just not heavy thumping.Exactly wwhat I expected and wanted, so happy with it though passenger looses leg room. Lol

Glad it is working for you. I tried a Kenwood PSW7EQ and it just did not cut it for me.

That was my very first choice when I seen that there was a compact sub as never heard of them myself , than I decided on the kicker 10. Sorry the kenwood didn't work as you liked.

I heard about them a year ago when I was putting a system in my truck. Have a 10" 250W under the passenger seat.

For my Corvette, I have the doors playing down to 40hz so there was no need for that Kenwood sub since it only plays down to 40hz.

Nice but don't have a clue what that means. I'm not a audiophile, was just looking for a little deeper beat.

Hz is a frequency measurement, the lower the number the deeper the bass, the higher the number (kHz) the more brilliance (treble). This shows you the difference of the frequencies.
  • Mud 0-20Hz
  • Sub Bass 20-60Hz
  • Bass 60-250Hz
  • Low Mids 250-500Hz
  • Midrange 500Hz-2kHz
  • High Mids 2kHz-4kHz
  • Presence 4kHZ-6kHz
  • Air 6kHz – 20kHz
