Need help diagnosing 89 Bose problem please
The other 3 speakers do work in the car. Could it be the head unit has gone bad? Maybe the speaker is blown? If it was blown wouldn't I at least hear static or a hissing sound? There is absolutely nothing coming out of it.
Also what is a good stock replacement CD head unit to fit my 89 dash and work with the Bose. I don't want to deal with going aftermarket right now so help me live with my Bose for time being, thanks!
*Now take the driver door speaker and try it in the pass side to see if it works or not.
*If the driver door speaker does not work in the pass side the try and swap the amps.
*So now if you have the drivers side amp/speaker in the pass door and still nothing then you may have a bad wire going from the deck to the speaker. Or the deck is bad on that channel.
*Also try the pass amp/speaker in the driver door to verify if they work (you know that channel is ok)
Kind of a plug and chug way to do it.
What you are doing is taking a known good part and putting it in the dead spot until you find what part is causeing the problem.
