NEED some help with a Stereo setup
Anyway has anyone ever put in 4 6x9's? If I only use 2 of them in the stock location, where should I put the amp and the Sub then? HOw many subs should I get for 2 6x9s? And what kind of amp? Any info or pics would really help me out here. :yesnod:
Audio: Pioneer; Headunit - DEH-P77DH, Changer - CDX-FM1257, Subwoofers - 10", Blaupunkt; Amps - MPA160US (x2), MPA400US (x2), Speakers - PCxt462 (4x6), PCxt652(6.5), PCxt693(6x9).
Kicker S10L7 Subwoofer will replaced my box.
I've used all stock locations of the speakers.
Even thought my system cheep (under $1000) it does the job very well.
I am running an Alpine 7894, bought locally here in SJ for $350(warranty was included) Ut can be had cheaper on line, but you do not get a warranty.
I just installed CDT 5 1/4 components for $250 shipped from http://www.cbrstereo.com
I have 6x9 Infinity Kappa's in the rear and infinity 4x6 plates in the dash.
The CDT's and the rears are running off an Alpine amp, I think I paid $200 for about 4 years ago.
With the CDT install, the dash speakers are now dead weight. The sound is so much better with the CDT's without the dash speakers, it is simply amazing.
The whole install is stealth, with the exception of the tweeters. They are mounted high on the carpet right next to the door speakers.
I periodically end up in Fremont(680 & Automall Pkwy - Fry's) during the lunch hour. If you want to meet and see/hear the system, Email me at steve@sjzaino.com
I installed a Sony Explode deck as well as 6/9 sony speaker in the rear and 4 inch Vega's on the doors. That was not enought!!!!!
I bought a 400 watt amp and also installed a 12 inch rockford woofer in the rear. I bought a band pass box, installed the woofer in it and then mounted the amp on the side, so it can be seen between the front two seats.
The box takes up almost the entire trunk, but I still can cover it with my shade and or good days, i can still take my top off and put it in the truck. The only bad thing, it will not fit in the roof holder in the trunk. I have to sit in on the box.
For me to have great tunes, it is worth the sacrifice!!!!
Good luck with your system!!!!! :auto:

So I dont know if I should get a subwoofer or woofer or whatever they are called, and then how big it should be and where exactly should I mount it to get maximum efficency out of it and so its not playing against the wall of the vette.
