OK - I have an Alpine Amp with A/D/S in front and JBL in rear,, Sony head unit -
My problem is - no sound is coming out the speakers? it worked fine last sunday, today when i started it up - nothing - the head unit works fine, and the amp has a red light on indicating power - but no lights indicating music
Does the amp have just one light a red one? Or does it have a red and green combination. If you've got a Volt/Ohm meter try doing resiatnce checks on all speaker leads from the amp output terminals.
Then if thats seems alright (guessing 4 ohm speakers) verify the amp is getting at least 11.0 volts or higher, some amps do go into low voltage protection mode.
Did the amp make any kind of loud pop noise or simular? No funny burnt smells?
:iagree: very true.. My JBL amp will signal red if its at 1 ohm and its not stable it wont play. Very nice. compared to replacing a blown amp..Thats why I like JBL amps. Good power and protection for a good price.
