i triing to wire a switch. one wire to grd, one to 12v and one to switched 12v right? thats the way i have it wired and the light stays on all the time. im lost
ok its a switch with 3 wires coming out of it. its a press button switch on/off. so i figured 1 wire to th grd, 1 wire to the 12v+ and 1 wire to the 12v switched. am i right??? i have the neon wires hooked as so: 1 wire to the grd one to the positive side of the batt and the other running to the switch
so is it a relay and the lite is staying on ,on the powered unit.?..or is it a switch with a lite in it to indicate on..??..if lighted switch, test wire it so the lite goes on and off with the switch..note that most of aftermarket switches have
a on/off plate that goes with it..that will help get on/off toggle rite..
one terminalis ground,,one other constant 12volts so when the switch is toggled it lites,,at this time it also switches on third terminal to power, like you said,a solenoid to power the fog lites...usually this kind of switch doesnt handle much current..so you may have ground in wrong place, power in wrong place,,or 12vdc constant in wrong place,,,or the switch dont like
handling neon....try just an on/off and see if you get that working,,,then a wiring diag for a lited switch you have..as always dont forget proper grounding of everything..
