Re: Comments on Viper 550 ESP? (Kale)
i pcked the model down... no remote start. $299 +40 for hood pin, backup battery, int siren
Sounds like a descent setup and price. I had a Viper ESP 300 or something like that a few years ago, I put it in one of my trucks and it seems to be a reliable unit. Are you going to install it yourself? If not, be there when the installer does it so you can make suggestions on where to place things like the brain, Valet, battery, interior siren, etc.

That's right; you're incapacitated for a while. How are you doing in the healing department?
Make sure they put the interior siren under the driver side hush panel since that is where a thief will look first for the brain. Even if they take the time to get the hush panel off during the ear splitting siren screaming they will find no brain there, by now, they will be out of time to go hunting for the brain. You can hide the brain up in the dash area, I'm not familiar with the interior of a Taco but I know there will be places up in the dash to stash it. It takes a little more effort to do it that way but it's proven to throw off thieves. By default an installer will put the brain and valet under the driver side hush panel. That's why you're there to tell them not to.
Good luck and I hope you get well soon Kale. :seeya
