Replacing Infinity with JL Audio
I got a sweet deal on a set of JL Audio XR650-csi components. In fact, I bought 2 sets and one will be for sale shortly. Anyhow, I pulled out and sold my Infinity Kappa 60.5cs and replaced them with these JLs. I was not happy with the mid bass in the Kappas. It was pretty flat and would clip if I set the crossover below 120Hz. All I can say is these JL components are incredible. The mid bass pounds all the way down to 80Hz. The bass from the doors is so good that I hardly need a sub (well no not really :lol)
I actually preferred the tweeters on the Kappas however because they were brighter, but I think most guys don't like the tweets at bright as I do. The crossovers are programmable to increase or decrease the dB of the woofers and the tweets. I mounted the crossovers on my amp rack and ran all new 16 gauge wire to the doors.
