Need help choosing an amp
I bought a JL stealthbox from a forum member and I wanted to ask which amp make/model would I be best to purchase? I would also like to know where people have put their amps. I would like to mount it somewhere out of the way such as the back wall off the hatch area. thanks in advance. oh the radio is just stock bose now

Hey man I'm pretty good with car audio systems and if you are looking for an amp that will be the best for your buck I would consider MA audio 300/2 amp. They are incredibly durable and the cost for one is real reasonable. You can pick up a nice 400watt MA amp for $130 on ebay... (and they its definitly a better amp then JL :U )

Thanks for the help, I've gotten the RF out of my mind, but now I'm torn between these two brands. the sub is a JL also, would a JL amp power a JL sub better

I am running a Hifonic Zeus 8000. It power Front, Rear, and Subwoofer. 4 x 50 Watts + 1 x 200 Watts @ 4 Ohms. I got it and some Infinity Kappas on Canal Street in NYC for $500. I would highly recommend it. I also have a 7 year old Soundstream 300sx reference that used to power a stealthbox in my 90 300ZX. It is amazing and actually sounds better than my Hifonics. I would use but wanted to save space with a 5 channel amp. I can part with it for $150.

Thanks, but im just interested in the amp/stealthbox intall. I just called in audio shop and asked them how much the install would be and they quoted me a price of at least 200 plus parts. Now as I have said before, I am not a car stereo guy, but from what I know and what others know around me, I believe this is roughly double for what it should be to wire the amp and the box. Can anybody tell me if I'm right or wrong?

Hi,
There is nothing to install with the stealthbox box. It pretty much drop right into the rear hatch. The only thing they have to do is install the amp. $200 for an amp install is way to much (it has to be the Corvette surcharge. :lol: ). You should be able to find another place to do it for less than $100.
