Amp Install Help
I don't have a lot of money to blow on something that I believe is only as hard as running wires, and I hate that all the "professional" installers feel they need to charge out the nose just cause it's a Corvette. Thanks for the help in advance.
1. Disconnect the battery (Don't skip if you aren't experienced)
2. Remove the inline fuse from your power wire
3. Connect your power wire to the battery with a post connector or ring.
4. Run the wire to the amp hidden under the panels/ carpet desired
5. Run the RCA jacks from the back of the headunit to your amp
6. Run the remote turn on wire from the headunit to your amp location (Blue wire)
7. You can put your headunit in now, but I suggest leaving it out to test
8. Now, you should have all your wires back to the area the amp will be
9. Mount your amp securely with screws or what have you
11. Find a grounded spot and run your ground wire from it to the amp
12. Connect all your wires - MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE FUSE OUT OF THE POWER WIRE!!!
13. I like to test the amp for power before i hook up the speakers
14. Hook up the battery power and with the car OFF put the inline fuse in place
15. Fire up your headunit to see if the amp clicks on. Then turn off again if all is OK. If it doesn't work recheck all your connections.
16. Dial down all your settings and most importantly your GAIN.
17. Connect your speakers.
Setting your amp's gain. There are two ways to do this. Most people use their ears, some use a Sine wave test CD.
1. Channel your stereo so that only your amped speakers are getting power or a signal.
2. Turn your radio up to approximately 75% volume. (You shouldn't hear loud sounds because your amp gain is down.
3. Starting from the Gain's lowest setting turn it up slowly until you hear distortion- then turn back one step or until it goes away.
2. Turn down your headunit volume and your gain is set. Do not adjust your gain past this point- only dial it down for lower signals.
3. Readjust your other speakers or repeat for each channel.

Do a search. There are some detailed pictures of which wires you need to tap into for the line inputs.
