Default Upgrade questions

Want to upgrade from Bose in my '96 ragtop without altering car by mounting locations, etc. as I want to be able to revert it to "clean" stock condition for sale if need be. An outfit in CT. called Sounds Incredible showed me some Focal 5 1/2" for the fronts and 6 1/2" for the rear with an Alpine HU rated at 60w/channel to swap out for the Bose with no amp or sub installed for $1k.
You don't hear clearly with the mods on the car so "opera" quality is not a concern. Any opinions? He seems to think that the HU power is sufficient for what I'm looking for and the concessions on installation that I agree with. Thanks!!!

Default Re: Upgrade questions (jrw)

That head unit makes MAYBE 20 watts... I cant think of any Focal speaker that will work with that little power...

The Access 130 & 165 are probably what you are looking at.. decent stuff, but really needs a true 40+ watts to sound really good. I would suggest an inexpensive 60x4 amp for your set up....

buy the parts online, and use the money you saved to get an amp.

Kale: Do you have any suggestions for what I want to accomplish as far as HU and speakers and maybe amp that I can mount without modifications to vehicle? I'd appreciate any help as I've been searching threads to no avail.
