Do the high-end RCA interconnects (ie, the Monster XLN series, et al) really make a difference for the $$$ you pay for them over your $10 interconnects at Wal-Mart?
Don't skimp on the interconnects. The C5 is notorious for introducing ignition noise into the system. You need good interconnects and a good ground to avoid this. Also make sure to run the power down the passenger side of the car and the interconnect cables down the center or drivers side of the car to help avoid noise as well.

Re: Question about interconnects... (aurik)
Actually, the high dollar brand name RCA's are not necessarily worth the extra money. As long as you have shielded RCA's, and most of them nowadays are well shielded, that's all you need. If you have money to burn just to say you have Monster Cable RCA's then go for it but it isn't necessary. A simple shielded or twisted pair will do the job just fine and cost you around $20 to $25 for a 17 ft. length. Anything more is just a waste of money.
Like Leo said though make sure you do have a good ground for all components and run power and signal wire on opposite sides of the car.
