Question about Alpine 7998
Does anyone have one? I have one in my vert and the screen is pretty much black and white. Are they all like this or is mine defective? I just put a 7894 in my truck and it is in color.

If you're referring to the LCD. Yes, its is black white with the digital chracters. However, you have two choices in color for the lumination.
This unit is not like the CD9813 or 15. Those are very colorful.

I just got my 7998 in the mail today! can't wait to install it!!! Can someone gimme question wire tap colors from the harness??
(I need to wait to install until I get that radio frma from vrumvrum!! I cant wait!)

I purchased the GM wiring harness adapter from TLElectronics for my 7998 install. I'm replacing the entire audio system in my '98 C5. The only connections I really needed were the ground, 12 V battery, and 12 V switched. Ground and battery worked fine. However, where the harness indicates you can get 12 V switched, there's no mathing wire in the factory harness connector, so it's just dead. I ended up getting 12 V swtiched from the line in the passenger foot well. I could also have used the ground and 12 V battery from the foot well and skipped the bose and adapter connectors.

I have a 99 vert, question is do I need to tap into any wire for the power antenna? Or its already done?
Iknow the think black wire is for the antenna, but what makes it do up and down refers to when the radio is on, no? :confused:
