radio install help (faceplate prob)

radio install help (faceplate prob)
I was puttin my new radio in tonight and ran into a prob. The faceplate kit wont fit. that is the screws stick out too far on the sides where the the tabs attach to the kit. has anyone else had this prob or am i just too something backwards? Im sure its the right kit cuz I got it from tuan le :)
do i just need to find a shorter screw?

It seems like 2 out of the 3 install kits have this problem. I usually just take a die grinder or hack saw and cut 2 threads of the screws to remidy this problem. Not the nicest answer but it works. :smash:

since it was a pretty tight fit anyway, i just stuck it in w/o the tabs on the sides. the console keeps it positioned where it needs to be.
after all that work, the radio doesnt even work lol
back to the store to swap it out :banghead:

I ended up turning the little rounded-head bolts around and inserting them from the outside with the lock nut on the inside. There was more clearance between the new HU and the faceplate mounting kit then between the kit and the console support/bracing. I did have to enlarge the holes in the mounting tabs a bit so the square shank of the bolt would sit down into the hole.
