Problem after installing the Amp and speakers. Help
Hi all,
After I got my amp and speaker installed my car has been throwing a lot of error codes for Left control modules. I took it to the dealership and they said their was a loose connector by the fuse box at the passenger side foot panel. After they fixed that it stopped throwing errors for a couple of weeks but started again more frequently.
After it throws an error the DIC displays "reduced engine power", Service engine soon, Service active handling and few others. All my electrical stops working at that time and radio turns off. Sometimes if I open the passenger door it all comes back. Also if I restart the car again it all resets but merges again.
Anyone seen this behavior after installing the after market equipment.
I will really appreiciate any feed back.

It was done by the installation shop. The power came from the battery terminal with a 30 amp fuse. The ground is on the body of the car since the amp is located under the passenger seat. The rest of the wiring for speakers is done according to the 99HT tech bulletin.

For the moment, let's zero in on the battery connections and keep this simple. I had to add a new positive bolt, that had an accessory post. It has a threaded extension on it, where you put any accesory wiring. This way you are making sure you still have a solid contact between the battery and the battery cable. The stock post bolt was a tad short based on the thickness of the post ring connector used on my amp hookup wire. I would check both your battery connections. Some of your symptoms fit a loose negative connection at the battery.

Make sure that your computer in the passenger side foot well is dry. There are two things that could be happening. On it the condensate drain line for the AC may get clogged and dripping on you computer. Or you battery may be leaking onto some wiring and corroding it away.
