I have a C5 with the bose stereo and I will soon be having my stereo shop putting in a stealthbox and an amp. Are there any things I should tell them that would be helpful in speeding things up? I trust them, but I want it done right. Also, I would like to create an aux in cord that i could possibly plug an mp3 player into. What do I need in order to accomplish this? I have a PIE cable but it is intertwined with a wiring harness for the CD player (aftermarket) What else do i need, and is this easy enough for me to do, or should I have my shop do that too
It sounds as if you may not be that adept at installations. Either that or you may not have the tools required to do a good job. In any case I suggest you lay out the whole plan with your stereo shop and see what they can do for you. Be sure they have experiance with the 'Vette and the Bose system. Good Luck
In order to use the AUX port to hook up other devices such MP3 players, you will need both the cd-changer harness and the PIE GM10-AUX adapter. The changer harness hooks up to the CD-changer port in the passenger foot well. The PIE GM10-AUX adapter hooks up to the cd-changer harness and convert it over to RCA input. And then you hook up the RCA output from the the MP3 player.
Here are the links for them. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
