Default Ok, I'm lost....Help!

Ok, I have this in the car

And bought this to connect to it

How? The connectors don't match, but everywhere I looked, says its the right harness.

Next, this is the antenna that connected to the reciever in the rear

And have this little antenna connector from the HU

How is this supposed to work? Do I need to buy another wire to connect them? I thought it would be connected behind the dash, due to its shortness.

I need HELP!! :cry

Throw out the connector you bought for the harness. Break out your multi-meter!! If you don't have one, go buy a cheapo at Radio Shack. Solder and tape the old fashion way.
As for the antenna, I don't see what the problem is. Just plug the cars male into the radio female. Get an adaptor if necessary. Usually one will come with the HU.

So, why did everyone tell me to get the harness, if I just have to throw it away? And how come nothing tells me that the antenna wire is in the rear of the car, and i'm looking up front? They only sell you an tiny antenna adaptor, why don't they sell you 8ft piece??

Well, I got the antenna taken care of, so thats at least done. Now, the wire harness is crap. Does anyone know what wires are what under the dash? I have to do it the old fashon way.

I'm not sure this is what you are asking, but here goes.

A friend just installed an Alpine HU in my car with what looks like the same harness as you. The black end plugs into the HU on the right side, and he connected wires from who knows where with crimp connectors for the other end. Not sure if you knew that already though. I'm glad my friend won the world championship for some car audio thing in 98 :D

Yeah, I figured that much out. But I thought the harness was supposed to make things easier.

Your harness connects to plugs that are in the secondary part of the radio that is behind the passenger side dash. The harness that fits is the 70-1858.
They make a "long" version that will reach to the Head Unit.
You will get a "SYS" error on the LCD because the ECM is looking for the old Head unit display dimmer circuit. This can be fixed by making connecting two resistors to the old head unit plugs. I just went through this and gathered all the information. I finished my install today. There is also a recently released mounting kit for 90-96 Vettes that most vendors, including Crutchfield don't know about.

If you want more info, send me an e-Mail galletta@michaelanthony.com

I thought it would too, but it seems nothing about Corvettes is easy :smash:

From what I heard, all you described, is for earlier C4's. The SYS light is for non climate control. I already have the dash kid, which is the biggest piece of crap.

Here is my understanding.. your receiver is located in the rear compartment. I don't have my shop manual in front of me for a 96, but I know in the 1991 all the Main power wires go to the receiver and then travel to the Head unit. in my car, I removed the plugs from the Receiver and just spliced them to the wires going to the Head unit. by doing this I could pick the lines I wanted to use.. my system seems to be fine,I still have the DAB ability

My car is a 90. First year with the new interior. I do have manual A/C controls, but Crutchfield said it didn't matter.
