Default Good C5 Replacement Speaker

Well, as it always seems to happen, the warranty goes and stuff starts to break. I've got a buzzing in one of rear speakers and I figured I would just go ahead and replace them all. I'm looking for a good drop in replacement. I don't want to add amps or change the head unit. Something with just a little more thump and a better sound. Any idea? BTW, no $500 per speaker ideas please. I don't have that kind of money.

You will need a pair of 3.5" speakers up front and a pair of 6.5" speakers out back. I would suggest since you are not planning on making any other changes that you might want to try Infinity reference line, MB quartz, Boston Acoustics, maybe Alpine's S or R series- they run well on low power. I would suggest different speakers if you were going an amped route, but these should be fine for your plans. You won't get a warranty but you can get these speakers cheap as heck on EBAY. Make sure you look at the NEW ones though.

I have used MB Quarts (2 way, 6.5 driver) and found them terrific. Run about 140 a set online.

IIRC, the rear speakers in a C-5 coupe are the "oversized" 6.5" speakers, actually more like 6.75". I had a pair of Kenwood 3-ways that I removed from one of my wife's cars just before we traded it in, and I put them in the rear of my C-5. Similar speakers are about $75 from Crutchfield.

I have a set of Infinity REF605CS 6 1/2" component speakers that I would be willing to part with. I had put them in my 2000 coupe, but now I decided to upgrade everything. I have the original box and hardware. I can let them go for cheap!! I think I paid $120 for them. Let them go for $60 + shipping.

Will those woofers fit in the back speaker mounts of the coupe?

These speakers are 6 1/2" the standard size for a C5 Coupe rear speakers. Notice, the speakers also include a separate tweeter that can be located close to you head, so the higher frequencies can be heard more easily.
