I took the day off yesterday to install my Alpine IVA-D900 DVD player, MB Quart PSD216 components, new amp rack, and stealthbox.
I am impressed with the bass I am getting from only a single 10" L5.
The MBs are pretty similar to the JL XRs I had. They are a touch brighter and the mid bass is a little more "full", but pretty hard to tell the difference unless you are really listening for it.
Looking good
So you just run 1 sub now :D?Whas up wit dat? :jester
I know, I know. I never thought that a single sub would get me the bass I wanted, but this current set up hits pretty hard. The L5 is getting 1200 watts so that might explain it. I'll have to check the specs to see if I have enough volume and depth for a 12" instead of a 10". The mid bass in the MBs is very powerful as well. I need to stick with this system for a while though, that IVA-D900 flattened my wallet.
Lars,Does your head unit have a gap between the trim piece and the mounting kit where you can see the mounting cage.I'm just curious if my clarion 935 TV was the problem or whether it was the mounting kit itself.Everything looks great

:yesnod:
I used to have 12" 2002 12L7 and it fit perfectly.
Mounting depth of L5 is a bit shorter so it will fit just fine.
It could have been you mounting kit. I don't have any gaps. I got my kit from Crutchfied. I have used a Metra kit in the past and was not happy with the results.
