Okay, everyone has different tastes but I have a question
Currently I have Orion HCCA 5s components (5.25" and a tweet) in my car. The Tweeters seem a bit harsh for my ears.. I readjusted them to the lowest level but they still might not be to my liking. I had Infinity Reference 510CS components before these (also a 5.25" and tweet) I liked the sound but they did not seem powerful enough. I had run both sets off the same amp too, but different times ;)
So what might be a little better with the softer tweeter of the Infinity?
Second Question on wiring..
With the Orion's the crossover is capable of bi-wiring where I could have the a channel for the 5.25 and another separate channel for the tweeter. So in my case, if I have a midbass or woofer using 2 of my 6 channel amp. should I bi wire the front to utilize all of the channels? Keep in mind my 6 channel amp is a dedicated 6 channel and NOT Bridgeable.
Re: Front Components Question and a wiring question>> (-=Jeff=-)
I know on my Boston Acoustics components, the crossover has a db adjustment (a removable jumper that can be placed on three different pin locations) which will raise or lower the harshness of the tweeter. Does the Orion have an adjustment like this? It's only a 4 db adjustment, but made a big difference in my car.
Re: Front Components Question and a wiring question>> (A C)
Yes Orion does.. Tweeter Level control of 0, -3, and -6. Half way through my cruising around I switched them from 0 to -6. maybe my ears were still bothered from the first 1/2 when I posted this. I will see how it goes now.
