I swear I think I'm going to go nuts before I get this damn thing working. :banghead: I've run the factory GM CD harness and PIE adapter that I got from Tuan. I'm pulling power direct from the fuse block and got a good ground. When I turn the unit on, I get a display and can select songs and start playing from the main unit or remote. However, I have no audio out to my factory head unit. When I press the CD/AUX button on the head unit, it only selects the CD and does not go to AUX. My AM plays fine but the FM stations have a lot of noise coming in over them. Almost like a modulator is screwing stuff up except that I'm not using a mudulator. Starting to wonder if I hooked up to the wrong connectors. Is that possible there are more connectors that would have fit the two adapters I plugged-in? I'm going to try and attach a photo of the connectors I patched in to as soon as I get verified elsewhere for photo posting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid this things going to end up in the lake... :mad
thanks

that really sucks!! I dont know what to tell you....i'm still waiting for my CD harness....taking forever!!! I am gonna pay Circuit City to do the install....seem competant. Where/how did you mount the head unit??
I haven't mounted it yet. It's in the passenger-side storage compartment right next to the fix-a-flat kit that comes with the Z06. I'm sure not cutting the ashtray area or making a new faceplate to fit there until/if I get this booger working. I had to upgrade the firmware and remove the index file from the NEO HD several times before the car caddy would even recognize that it had a HD in it. Prior to that I was just getting some error message. I've been reading on another NEO/MP3 forum that there is a huge issue with these not getting enough power to spin the HD. Maybe/hopefully someone here will have some ideas.
This may be a dumb question, but just to make sure are you hooking your power up to the +12 power cable from the ignition switch in the fuse box?? I guess that is where the power should come from....
Looks like had it all hooked-up correctly. I noticed that the display did change to Disk 1, Track 1 when I press the AUX button a second time. I was confusing that with the CD in the head unit. I found that the volume/output control on the NEO itself was set to 1 so even with the stereo cranked up I couldn't hear that it was actually playing. Got that straightened out but still have a lot of noise coming over my FM stations as long as the NEO is powered on. Must have a problem with a ground loop or something similar. Getting closer though. I am reading some other posts about the noise issue.

I guess my question to other CorvetteForum members with a NEO is, Does yours cause noise on your FM stations when powered-up? Don't want to spend too much time running down ground issues if that's not going to help.
thanks

Remove the changer wiring harness from your system and see if you still get noise from your FM station. If yes, than the noise is coming from else where not your NEO, GM10-AUX or changer wiring harness.
If the noise is gone after you unplugged the changer wiring harness, then plug it back in but this time, remove the GM10-AUX adapter and the NEO. How about now? Is the noise still there? If not, then plug in the GM10-AUX adapter but remove the NEO. Try step by step and see where the noise is coming from.
in order for me to get the NEO volume to match the CD player and radio... I had to turn the pre-amp out level all the way up on the Neo (I think its "32" ???)
the display did change to Disk 1, Track 1 when I press the AUX button a second time.
Removing the Aux harness connection has no effect on the noise coming through on FM when the unit is powered on. Must be an issue with the ground. I did have to turn it up to 32 to get the volume to near the same level as the radio and CD.
It started doing other strange things today though. Worked fine for a while but then I found anytime I would use the skip button to go to another selection more than about 4 times in a row it would just lock-up and stay stuck on displaying the current selection but not playing or accepting any input from the wired remote or main unit controls. I would have to turn the unit on and off several times at the main unit and it would finally start working again. On the way home it got locked again while searching through the music folders. It said META where the directory/folder is usually displayed and was just locked on the last song. Would not start playing or acept any input, just stuck at the beginning of the track with 00 displayed. Placing the unit back in the PC USB bay didn't get me any further. Although the display would say Host PC Found, and a drive letter would show up, I could not access it from Explorer like you normally do and it didn't show labeled as PC Jukebox. After a 1/2 hour of resets, reboots, button pushing, etc it finally showed it was rebuilding the Index file and started working again. Seems to be fine in my car again but I'm not going to start skipping through a lot of songs just yet. Well, off to the MP3 forum to see what I can find there...
