My front passenger side speaker has been crackleing like crazy. This will be the third time I have to replace the damn thing. Before I take it to the dealer and get the run around, I wanted to ask and see what people thought might be the problem. Since this may be the third time I have to relpace it, I was wondering what a cheaper, more reliable alternative to the Bose system would be, with the same or better quality. Thanks
Well...you can't really replace the Bose speakers without replacing much of the stock system(HU, speakers, wiring) because the Bose speakers are only 1 ohm for the woofers and they run on their own amp.
What kind of music were you playing when it started crackling? I'm pretty sure you can't really blow out the stock speakers if the amp is working correctly, so maybe it is an electronic issue. Do you play test tones with the volume all the way up?
We really need more info to diagnose this problem.
Well its really strange, the driver's side speaker has never blown, it seems to always be the passenger side. I keep the balance in the middle so I really don't know why one would crackle and not the other. Plus I really don't listen to the music that loud, that is why I am baffled.

I noticed my dad's does the same thing...really strange. His will rattle and make weird noises while the drivers side is fine. You could always just set the balance to the drivers side a little.
