XM antenna for convert
ANyone with install ideas for xm antenna for a convertable. Stuck mine at the proper angle inside rear fender. Used a glass mount with a buffer in between. Reception is horrible. Cant use antenna requiring a metal plane to operate....

I used a roof mount anteanna. The documentation says that it needs at least a 3" meatal base... that base isn't for reception, it's for the magnet. I bought some industrial double stick tape at Home Depot, covered the bottom of the darn thing.. wipped of the inside shelf and stuck it there. Reception is great.

Just use the standard antenna w/ the double-sided stick tape on the back. Place it inside the rear bumper onto of the license plate indention. No problems at all. But then again, I have Sirius, the superior system, ;)

I placed the antenna next to the hatch latch. Even though there is some magnetic force from the latch plate, the reception is not exceptional. On another vehicle, my BMW K1200 bike, I used an aftermarket metal mounting plate next to trunk antenna and found the reception GREAT! I can receive even inside the garage. The metal plate IS the key.
