Ok guys I have finally decided to install my HU and speakers that have been sitting around for ever. I just bought the wire harness, antenna adapter and mounting kit from Tuan. I just need a few pointers on how to do this. I'm going to put in a Alpine 9815 along with some alpine door speakers and rear speakers (all stock sizes). Along with this I already have a amp and sub installed. I was wandering is this a simple thing to do? I have installed a HU on a caviler before and had no problems. Will this one be as straight forward? Any helpful hints would be apprecited. I pretty much know how to put in all the speakers but when installing the HU will all I have to do is connect the wires and plug it in?
I'm considering this head unit myself, so put up some pics when you finish.
You probably should run new wires to the speakers from your harness, as some of the factory wires go through a "conditioning" processor before going back to the head unit, then out to the speakers. Easier just to run new ones.
Also, I just bought a stealthbox with a 12" JL Audio sub. Which phoenix gold amp are you running and what is your opinion on the wattage necessary to get good output from the JL?
Oh....you'll need to mount the speakers on mdf in the doors. Chuck the whole bose amp/speaker assembly after you use it to make a template for the mdf.
I'm running a PG 300.2 to the sub and in my opinoin I could run a little more put it sounds good. I'm not putting in component speakers just the factory size Alpines. I will post some pics when done. :jester
