Default Install Completed

Well, it took like 4 weeks but my stereo installation is finally complete. I must admit that I am even more impressed than I thought I would be. It sounds wicked... as long as I figure out how to program the head unit properly. Man that DEH-P940MP has a ton of configurations. It will probably take me a few more weeks before I finally work out all the details with it.

Without further adieu, here are the pics:

Main Site: http://www.wjnconsulting.com/default.htm (click on the Corvette link)
System Details (direct link): http://www.wjnconsulting.com/Corvette/stereo1.htm
Install in progress pics (direct link): http://www.wjnconsulting.com/Corvette/stereo2.htm
Completed installation pics (direct link): http://www.wjnconsulting.com/Corvette/stereo3.htm

EDIT - Regarding picture quality... my photo skills rank up there with my web design skills. I've done the best I can, but if the quality sucks... well, short of someone explaining how to take a better picture what you are seeing is probably as good as I can take.

You really want to know? Equipment was about $3000 all total. I could have gotten a little better price off the net but

1) I wouldn't have warranties
2) It would have been a pain tracking it all
3) I couldn't have leveraged 0% interest
4) They really did give me some reasonable prices. I didn't pay list for anything, and when I figure the shipping and aggravation of trying to get everything myself it was worth it.

The custom work I got a steal on as far as I am concerned. That came out to about $2500.

Taxes and what not it was about $6000 out the door.

It's not a really a daily driver. It is rarely, if ever, left where I can not see it or where I am not confident in its security so the factory alarm is good enough for me for the time being.

Tint is next on the list. Unfortunately the only decent tint shop in Houston is way up on the north side and I am down in the Sugarland area which makes it an hour each way. Got to plan it some weekend in the near future.

The amp cover is fiberglass. The rest, believe it or not, is all wood. He used some kind of putty/primer stuff on it to give it that look, then applied like 7 coats of paint and 11 coats of clearcoat or something crazy like that.

Everything is removable. The bridges pop right out, the sub enclosure can be removed and the amp rack can be taken out through the cockpit, so if I need more space I can have it in a few minutes.

He cut a template in wood, tore the door frame out, cut it based on the template and then reupholstered the whole thing. Took about a day, according to him most of that time was cleaning the old upholstery off the frame.

That's an awesome install ! I like the neon and how you have the amps mounted. Nice design.
Even though your car isn't a daily driver I would sugggest you get an alarm. I have the Hornet 554T, you can hook up remote start, it tells you the interior temperature of your car, power locks, power hatch, you can even turn on the AC or Heat and on top of all that it has a two way remote that vibrates or sounds an alarm if one of the shock sensors go off on your vehicle. I paid about 300 canadian, that was shipped and delivered.
