Default Need an access point thru firewall

Took me a couple hours but I finally decoded the Blose wiring nightmare so I can get the new HU running :hurray:

Now I need to find a place to get the power lead from the battery into the cockpit. Looks like there might be a grommet just behind the battery ??
Where have you guys found an opening without having to make a new hole??

PS:
I have a 94 coupe

In the early C4s there is a ton of room by the area where the throttle and hood release cable come through on the firewall. Just drill a hole there and use a long screwdriver and find the end inside the car. Most wire kits come with a firewall grommett to prevent cutting the insulation.

Here is a pic:

Try it like this. You can see the already there hole just below the upper driver side door hinge. The fuse bus bar behind the battery is a good spot to add the power wire. Just make sure to use an inline fuse and attach it with a loop hole connector.

Thanks guys !
Goody, I found the spot you used today.
Mine still has a solid grommet so I just cut a small X to poke the wire thru.
But I went from the battery thru the support bracket, that you went under. There was already a hole there so I put my own grommet in it.

Last hassle is to get the speakers mounted now that the wiring is all run. I screwed up on the rears and cut the hole a bit too low. When I mounted them on the surface then the stock grill cover would hit. I mounted it under the plate and the speaker hit the floor :bb I need to remake the back plates to put the speaker higher up in the space.

Fronts ????
I see what you did Goody and that was the same direction I was headed. Just have to figure out the angles.

Should be done this weekend

Yeah, I need to find a grommet and get it in there for piece of mind.
Good luck with your install.
