I received an aftermarket CD changer but don't know how to remove radio without causing a problem with security. I was told that the radio is protected in some way to protect it from being stolen. :nopity
I've heard the same thing but had my headunit removed for an aftermarket radio. I sold the radio by E-bay and the buyer had no problems with any such theft protection. My installer said he has removed many a GM radio's and never had a problem. I've changed my battery (so no juice to the radio) and no such problems. A myth perhaps
The C5 does come with a factory alarm and it is slightly possible if the alarm is on and the radio is removed, the radio could lock up  I'd give a
2% of that happening since I doubt that GM thought of such a thing.
Let me know by IM what you find out
