I'm in the process of searching for an antenna for my XM tuner but have limited experience with installs. Does anyone have a brand they can recommend? Terk seems like the best bet. Any ideas on what works in vettes and what doesnt. ie: glass mounted/interior mounted? :smash:
Many people here on CF are getting the small XM antenna shaped like a computer mouse and mounting it out of sight on top of the shelf created where your rear license plate is. Do a search on XM antennas here in Audio and you'll find links to some pictures of the install - totally stealth.
Dexter is correct and the one Terk makes that antenna. But it is not the one I am going to use in vette because of two reasons. I have found the larger Terk antenna for less since the new one came out and since I am going to hide in the bumper who cares if it is bigger. The other reason is the newer smaller one is magnetic. So I would have to add the double sided tape that the old one has already. Both work very well, I have old on my truck and new on my wife's car. I also have a Terk antenna on my house. We really like XM :) Good luck
Everywhere I have seen the antennas they are the same price. I have heard that Wal Mart is now carrying them and they might be less or go to a local shop that you can talk them down a bit.
I purchased a roady for my c5. It was complete with a mini antenna.
I purchased a commander for my c4, also a complete setup with a mini antenna. The antenna magnet holds well of rear glass strut, ets a good vision of sky.
